Former Austin Peay Co-Offensive Coordinator Patrick Kugler Resigns Following Arrest
Kugler arrested as part of undercover prostitution investigation
Patrick Kugler, the former co-offensive coordinator at Austin Peay State University, was arrested on Sunday after being charged with patronizing prostitution.
Kugler was arrested after an undercover investigation
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Kugler was arrested during an undercover operation in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Kugler’s bond was set at $5,000. AP reports that Kugler has resigned from his position at Austin Peay.
Kugler served as co-offensive coordinator at Austin Peay since January
Kugler was hired as co-offensive coordinator at Austin Peay in January 2023.
Prior to his role at Austin Peay, Kugler was offensive coordinator at Concord University, a Division II school in West Virginia.
Kugler was also the head coach at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia from 2014 to 2018.
Austin Peay State University released a statement saying that they are aware of the arrest and that Kugler has resigned.
The statement further states that "the university takes these matters very seriously" and that "we will cooperate fully with the investigation."
Kugler's arrest comes just days before Austin Peay is set to open its 2023 football season.
